Good mower for the money, our Harrier of 23 years just broke but unable to afford new one hence purchased the spirit. If overspill of fuel onto body then it will leave a stain, also if grass slightly wet then the shoot blocks before grass bag completely full, but overall very happy with mover and service.

First petrol mower I have owned and what a great choice. I have a 50ft squared lawn and its perfect size mower, quick to assemble, very reliable, easy to use and the only minor flaw is wondering how much oil it takes before starting for the first time (I used about 2/3rds of the bottle!) as it takes ages to settle to get true dip stick reading.

Excellent mower for the money. I was looking for a reasonably priced mower that cut right to the edge of my lawn, this does the trick just fine ... my grass was newly laid turf and first time I used the mower was the first cut. It was very long and wet at bottom because of the heavy rain, but the Hayter managed the cut with no problems at all ...excellent mower would recommend to anyone .....

A telephone response was followed by swift delivery. The ease of assembly was quite refreshing and once filled with oil and petrol, the machine started on the first pull. We were able to regulate the height of cut easily and the resultant stripes were a delight to see. This machine is excellent, well constructed and easy to operate. We are most satisfied. Excellent mower. Out of the box, fill with oil and petrol and away you go. Other comments about being slightly unwieldy are valid but an excellent small petrol mower. Garden lines delivered within 24 hours of ordering. Highly recommended

My last Hayter Spirit equivalent model lasted 20 years with general regular servicing, so looking at an alternative make was not an option, suffice to say from first observations the quality of the new mower was still of a very high specification which I would fully recommend.

Having used the lawn mower which is a vast improvement on my old electric one it is easy to operate, does a great job, but it is heavy and quite difficult to manouvre around my un even slopy lawn.

Lawn mower was a present for my dad from the family.He was very impressed.Only thing he has said was that it is quite large and heavy.This could prove diffult in years to come.Overall very happy and leaves a stunning finish to the grass with the powerful mower.

Excellent service. Ordered Thursday delivered Noon Friday. Initial comments after only one cut. Well made, quality finished, easy assembly, once out of box!! You do need two people to remove from the box; that was the hardest part!! Extremely easy to start, my wife struggled to start our previous mower, and was surprised how easy this mower starts. First cut was very good, with nice stripes, was easy to clean. Would definately recommend.

I am very impressed with the design and constructional quality of the mower which makes me confident that I shall be able to use it for many years and hence consider it to be a good value for money purchase. The design makes it easy to clean after use and the single lever for adjusting the height of cut simplifies this operation. The only design improvement that might be needed is to introduce a split rear roller to assist turning the mower, but other than that it operates very well.

Fantastic. The Hayter is easy to set up and had mowed both lawns within 2 hours. Good cut, stripes, the lawn looks great. This is a replacement for a previous Hayter which we had had for about 30 years so we know the excellent quality of their machines! Delivery was superb - I had a phone call almost immedietely after ordering to say the mower would arrive next day, and it did!

I am very satisfied with this mower - just used it the once so far and it was a joy to use! Simple to get started out of the box and mow! I did some 'hands on' research before buying on-line and the Hayter had a better quality feel and attention to detail in its construction at this price. Our lawn is of reasonable size, but flat so I'm happy enough with my decision to buy the push mower rather than the self drive. At the time the front lawn was very long and it mowed this with as much ease as the rear. There are few petrol mowers in this price bracket that have a rear roller, so if you'd like a traditional finish to a med/large flat lawn I'd recommend the Hayter Spirit 617.

was really impressed with the build quality, started first pull and did every thing it said on the box. I have used it 3 times in the week and it has started on the 1st pull every time. A friend popped round one of the days who has a mower by mountfield mower and having tried my new mower expressed what a good machine it was. I am very pleased with my purchase and especially with the 3 year warranty which gives you added peace of mind.

Excellent little machine, dead easy to assemble and really light prefect for edges and area where maneuverability and no-compaction is required. Starting is great and has a sensible size grass box which is unusual on smaller machines. Great service from GardenLines and will use them again.

I have used similar mowers for over 45 years, and this machine is the Rolls Royce of them all. It is a very well built unit easy start quiet and cuts like a dream. I am delighted with it.

You get the feeling you are using a well made, easy to understand lawn mower, it is however, slightly heavy in push version, self propelled probably overcomes this.

Having owned the Hayter 41 which had lasted for the last 22 years, I had no qualms about getting a new one, despite the huge range of mowers available. Ergonomic updates have made the mower even easier to start and to store in the shed, which are a real plus. I am very pleased with my new machine!!

Hayter Spirit 41 Cut the lawn once with this mower first cut after winter performed well, excellent value for money well built machine, If the back roller was split it would take corners better, (only a minor point) easy to clean very happy with it. Tony D.

Have used it once so far and it appears pretty good! A little heavy to turn but I think it will be fine. Be careful filling up with oil as the nosil narrows quickly from the cap and it is very easy to overdo the speed of filling and the oil goes everywhere!!

I use to be a Hayter owner many years ago and I am glad to be one again. After years of using a heavy mower it is good to have one that not only looks and is quality, but is so light my weekly cut will no longer feel as if I have been at the gym!A2AD4516

Not really had achance to evaluate it properly as this was the first cut of the season. However it is extremly well made and performed well.

happy with the products construction, build quality and ease of starting. It is a little early in the season to judge performance due to wet grass etc. It seems heavier to manouver than the 16" Mountfield it replaces but I will be able to judge the performance (grass cutting and finish) once the weather improves and the grass is growing more vigorouly. I think this is the rolls royce of mowers, it looks great and it starts with the first pull, the controls are excellent. all in all the best machine i have ever owned in my 78 years, thank you.
