Machine performs well and so far meets all the claims of specification. Only time will tell regarding robustness. On basis of experience of use to date I would recommend purchase.

Machine is built well and is quiet. The shredder does take some setting up, and then re-setting to get it to constantly cut the larger pieces of branch cleanly, which is annoying sometimes, but it is being asked to do a lot of work. Instructions were limited to assemble the product, and there are none to instruct on usage. (Apart from the standard health and safety notes) Therefore I am not sure about the “Mulching” part of the description, as I have only found the shredder button!!!.
All in all it is helping to clear the garden of the pine branches I have cut down at the end of last year, which is what it was bought for.

Having used the Ryobi shredder/mulcher on two occasions already, I can conclude that the machine is excellent value for money. As with most units of this type the results do vary depending on the material being processed. I have found that Pyracantha in particular does not shred so readily as say Buddleia, but you can't have everything I suppose. I would recommend the Ryobi shredder to anyone looking for a robust machine that does exactly what it says on the box.

Robust, sturdy and quiet in operation. It is quite heavy so you need to be careful when moving it around. The shredding action is very good and I was surprised by the size (thickness) of branches it will deal with. Assembley is easy but may need 2 people to put it together because of its weight. Once assembled, check the shredding cutter is properly set (easy to do) before use for best results. For the price, I don't think I could have chosen better.

Excellent value for money. It was easy to assemble, despite the poor diagrams in the manual, and is very easy to use.
