A good machine for someone with a pile of wood and a bad back! Only downside is that it can be awkward to move. Once set up a dream to use.

for the actual job it does I would give it a 5, but its rather back breaking as its on the floor, perhaps would be better if on a stand of some sort?

Does everything it is designed to do but there should be a purpose built stand available to bring machine up to a suitable working level.

Was a Christmas pressie for my husband. He was very pleased with it and has put it to good use today (27.12.07). It worked well, but he found it easier if there were two people working it, one to use the handles and one to hold the larger logs in place. It split the new wood very well.

It does everything that it promises, and more. I was able to safely split logs more than twice the adverised size. The controls are so precise that you can slowly move the ram, and the log splits gently in two. It is much quicker than an axe, and far safer. The resulting wood is well shaped, and can be split as fine as kindling if required.

This is a god send, In just over 4 hours I managed to split enough logs to last for probably 3/4 winters.
The machine was easy to use and with common sense and care is very safe to operate.
Would advise to mount on a sturdy bench as this saves too much back bending.

We are very impressed with the logsplitter, it's performance is awesome. It splits the logs like a knife going through butter, absolutely effortless. I cut logs in a few minutes that would have taken me a couple of hours by hand, I really enjoyed the experience and had to be coaxed to leave the job in hand, as I was only supposed to be trying it out.

works exremely well although the instruction handbook could be a bit clearer.

The product came fully assembled and the description given was spot on. It is a very effeicient log splitter and one I would recommend to anyone.

The Handy Log Splitter made easy work of the mountain of logs I had waiting to split. Even large broad-based oak went through like a dream. The only thing I'd change would be the push plate. If it was knurled, it would hold the wood fast better. Apart from that, a God-send in the garden.

Very good but heavy to handle

Extremely well made unit, easy to operate, and does exactly what it is supposed to do.
