Handy 2500 Quiet Shredder THSS

Assembly was easy but the label on the adjustment screw was incorrect - the label indicated anticlockwise rotation of the screw would move the cutter teeth closer, when in fact clockwise rotation was required; this caused a little initial confusion but once adjusted the shredder worked quietly and effectively and met expectations.

Although it is early days the Handy Quiet shredder seems to do all it claims. It is very easy to use and produces good chopped material, although whether it is fine enough for composting is questionable.
The service by Presentlines was first class. The shredder was delivered within two days.

Very quiet in operation, very efficient on "woody shrubs" but not so good at shredding softer thin material, also it finds bamboo hard to deal with. However in this price bracket I don't think any other machine could do any better, overall I am happy with my purchase.

Excellent advise and service from Presentlines. We used the Handy 2500 shredder at the weekend and were pleased with the results. A great value shredder.

The product was easy to assemble; the instructions were clear. The product worked first time but it is tricky to get the adjustment just right for the materials to be processed. On the whole good value for money.
The slot is designed to limit the siz of branch to 40 mm; unfortunately this does cause some issues with smaller diameter branches that have branches and nodes attached.

Handled conifers really well. Reverse gear dealt with any blockages easily. No need to dismantle machine. Other than the large logs over 40mm it dealt with 10 feet in height taken from a 20 foot length of conifers much better than expected.

Very smart machine. Have only tried 'test' garden waste, seemed to deal with the range of branch sizes I have put through the shredder. Pleasant not to have to wear ear defenders when using this quiet model. Looking forward to putting the shredder to work in the spring.

Very quiet, very powerful machine, with all appropriate protection/recovery mechanisms.
Time will tell how ell it lasts, but initial impressions are v. favourable.
Delivery by GardenLines was very prompt, and *exactly* as requested ref. time & place.
Excellent service and Value-for-Money. Shall recommend to others.

Having only used the Shredder once, I cannot comment on longer term durability and reliability. However, it performed admirably on medium-sized branches, but not quite so well on thinner, more fleshy stalks. Perhaps if I experiment with the blade adjustment, I may improve this aspect. I was impressed with the low noise levels - no louder than the average lawnmower. All told, I am pleased with product, especially with the price and free delivery.

Have only just been able to use this product because of the weather, but it more than lives up to expectations. However, the instruction booklet mentions a pushing tool is supplied, but on enquiring with the service department I was told that the booklet was out of date as the machine is self feeding ( which it does appear to be ). The only thing now is, it is causing arguments between my wife and myself as to who can use it.

I have no experience of other shredders but this one definitely is quiet. I have only shredded dry twiggy-type stuff so far but it feeds through easily and the end result is pieces about 1" to 4" long depending on how fast it feeds through - and that seems to be governed by the quantity being put through at one time.

Sturdy fairly quiet shredder, copes very easily with large tree branches, not too happy with thin privet type branches, but otherwise good all round little machine.

I'm very inpressed by this bit of kit. It has handled everything I've fed into it, from branches that just go through the feed slot, down to small leaves and foliage. It rarley blocks, and is easy to clear when it does. It feels well built and is very good value for money.

I was very impressed with the shredder. It was simple to put together, stable when operating and is easy to move around. It coped very well with the small branches and brash from a large ash tree, i.e. solid, woody pieces. Thin, fibrous branches such as hawthorn of less than 5mm tended to pass through unscathed. The only few occasions in twelve hours of operation when it jammed were the result of my overloading it; even then it took only a few moments to clear.

This is my first garden shredder and I am very satisfied with this model. I needed it mainly for shredding shrubs and pruned tree branches and so far it has coped well. It isn't so effiecient with small twigs (less than 2mm) or leafy material that tended to pass through virtually untouched but this was not why I wanted it. Very quiet compared to other shredders that I've heard in our neighbourhood. I did turn the blade adjuster after the first use and found it cut the smaller material much better.

We are very pleased with this purchase. It is very quiet and does what it says. Very easy to move around. I didn't find the shredded wood suitable for mulching though. GardenLines are first class to do business with.
