The higher revving 2- stroke engine appears to give better hover characteristics hence the XL500 is more difficult to manoeuvre.Apart from this observation it is reliable workhorse.

Warning this latest Flymo is much heavier than the original two stroke. It is therefore not so manoeverable. The wheels look like a total design after thought and are not integrated with the original design. On this basis wheels were not purchased. One has to think carefully over where one stores it as it may have to be lifted. The engine however appears to be strong and no doubt will last a long time.

A first class machine and fit for purpose for mowing steep banks with relative ease.

Well, it cuts the grass very well, err, I guess it does exactly what it says on the tin to use an old and over used saying. It's a bit heavy though.

Flymo is a good product and found to be reliable.
Previous model has worked and is still working after 5 years.

My husband is highly satisfied with product, our lawn was 18" high! it made short work of it. He now enjoys doing the lawns as it does'nt take long, no cables in the way and no clumps of grass.

Perfect all round mower. The petrol flymo will cut a large lawn in half the time of a conventional mower. Especially good in rough areas and slopes.

I agree with those who say this 4 stroke Flymo isn't as manoverable as the older lighter 2 stroke but I don't have a problem with that. I'm cutting about 450 sq yds with just a few trees to go round. It hovers well, is easy to push, cuts grass fast and I can do this area on a litre of fuel. More economical than a 2 stroke and starts first pull.
This was the best price I could find, good value for money and super fast delivery.

I bought this product for two reasons. 1. Flymo is a well respected brand and 2. The mower has a Honda engine which in my opinion will be reliable and should start easier than a two stroke engine.
