Lithium-Ion technology is normally found in PC’s and mobile phones but with Bosch incorporating Lithium-Ion batteries into their garden machinery you no longer have to deal with intrusive power cables.
Infusing Lithium – the lightest known metal, with Ions – electrically charged atoms into ‘cells’ produces the best power/weight/density ratio making it ideal for garden machinery.
Providing more power at less weight Bosch’s LI range, which includes lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, grass trimmers and shears, is up to 40% more compact and 50% lighter than conventional cordless garden tools.
An extra highlight is the quick recharge time as Bosch’s Lithium-Ion batteries can be recharged to 80% capacity in 30 minutes, and fully charged in an hour, 16 times quicker than conventional lead acid batteries.
As there’s no self-discharge or memory effect Lithium-Ion batteries have 700 recycles, meaning even if you recharge once a week the battery will last over 12 years.
Always ready to use if stored properly Lithium-Ion batteries are better kept in a cool place than at room temperature. Lithium-Ion batteries discharge naturally at 1% per month in the cold (NiCad batteries discharge at 1% per day), but at room temperature will lose 5% per month.
Due to Lithium-Ion technology the Bosch ART LI Grass Trimmers can trim up to 1000 metres on one charge, and as the Rotak 43 LI is supplied with two 36V batteries, you can mow continuously as the spare battery charges quickly.
